Due to concerns from the LGM community, the planned keynote with Dr. Richard Stallman is cancelled.

The announcement made many people angry and upset, and anger and division are not what LGM is about. Public debate was one of the factors that led to this decision. The discussion can be read here: https://post.lurk.org/@lgm/114462101041791903

Someone here posted some amazing pictures of an evening scene, with lichen in the foreground lit by an ultraviolet torch. Forgive me, I didn't note who it was, but if you see this, please say so we can thank you.
Inspired, as we have so much lichen in these parts, we bought a small torch. Last evening was it first test, and it was fascinating. Look at that insignificant patch at the top of the pic
Here's natural light vs UV. We're going to have fun with this
