Interested in home automation, tinkering and 3d printing. Other stuff to. Archaeologist by day and the rest is an escape away from the real world.
In my book how you live you choose to be doesn't matter you are an equal. I respect that.

OK, figured out with the touch screen. Not many apps work with the pt2 touch.

I've had a few days with my pebble time 2 and the screen doesn't act as a touch screen. I've tried turning the setting on and off. Any ideas?

Tim Berners-Lee, inventor of the World Wide Web, gave away his rights to the source code as he wanted the web to be a free and universal public good.

“This Is For Everyone”

Google had other plans. $4.3T corporation generating $1B+ per day from harvesting your data and selling you adverts. Mojeek is a vote for Berners-Lee ✅

Bambu Lab doesn't seem to care about tinkerers. But fret not, there's always an 'open' way out:

Bambu Lab Keeps Locking Down, The Community Keeps Building Up

As Bambu Lab tightens its grip on its ecosystem, tools like Bambuddy are giving owners back control of hardware they paid for.

It's FOSS

I was looking at the #EMFcamp badge for too long and now want to make it walk. If anyone wants to also work on this hexpansion, please let me know - maybe we can have an hexapod army in 2028.

This is a CH32V003 running code by @deshipu - a clever I2C to servo bridge. There's an INA219 current and voltage measure chip for the servos.

Tried to document as much as I can on the PCB itself.

Even though I wasn't able to get a ticket for #emfcamp2026 I'm enjoying seeing what everyone is doing for it and the badges look way cool

My pebble time 2 arrived yesterday, really nice but I'm not convinced I like the strap. Luckily I ordered a new one from gadgetwraps before they sold out.

I have a very simple solution to the "data broker problem": simply outlaw them. There is no reason a free society should tolerate their existence.

Does anyone have any experience with #legacy #kindle hacking particularly around using #uboot to boot a custom kernel?

I've got a PW3 and have serial setup, I've compiled the kernel from the original amazon source and have a uImage but getting nothing when I bootm

Sidenote:
(I'm not a fan of LLM stuff but I do wonder if sometimes people turn to use an LLM as it can be quite lonely trying to work on a project on your own particularly if you run into a bit of a wall)

I’m sending my first newsletter this Friday.

I already write a lot. Notes, thoughts, rabbit holes, ideas, and things that keep me busy.

Too much of it never makes it out of the drawer. Very responsible. Very doomed. 🙈

The problem is not writing. The problem is publishing.

Changing that.
