Israeli occupation forces abducted activists Erin Chu from New York and Trudy Frost from Boston while they were volunteering with the International Solidarity Movement in Al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah.
The activists were staying with the Abu Hammam family, who have faced repeated harassment from Israeli settlers and forces. Their residency permits were quickly revoked, and they were transferred to Givon Prison near Ramla.
