@asad as someone who's been on here for a few years, I can confirm that your initial impression is correct. I'm hoping the current migration will make this place more diverse, and that the non-Western, non-tech, non-academic folks will stick around.
@taylorlorenz I'm enjoying it so far but quickly realising that it's currently very Western and heavy on the tech/academic types. That's probably just the early adopters, though, or maybe I'm just not looking in the right places yet. Let's see.

That was fine. Arguably it worked better than algos.
@JohanEmpa The only problem seems to be that the app doesn't display notifications to me
Apparently the official Android app is still pretty new and being worked on and doesn't have some features you would expect. So you might want to consider third party apps that are a bit more established. Thanks for pointing me to the Tusky app, @JohanEmpa!
