Someone wondered why I would travel to #Scotland and Northern #England saying that Canada has so much #nature already. And while true, #Canada does not have rolling hills and dales full of fields and sheep everywhere!
Definitely pretty
The only consolation of being laid off while on vacation is that I’m in a pretty place
I’ve tried the #onigiri specific stores and they were disappointing and overpriced. So far, the best onigiri in #Victoria is at #RamenArashi
A great #piano recital by #Cateen. Sadly, the line up for the meet & greet was hours long so we didn’t stay. Still totally worth it, and we hope to see him in #Vancouver again.

The second package has a more normal/expected timeline, but it still got a little lost:

HK > Alaska > Kentucky > BC

8247 km = ANC > CVG > YVR
2141 km = ANC > YVR

So it travelled an extra 6106 km.

(the flight distance calculator I was using did not have an airport in Louisville, KY so I used Hebron, KY)

The tracker timestamps are also hilarious, making it look it went from HK to AK to HK to KY

A company I ordered from is using #SpaceshipApp to ship packages, and all I can think of is that spaceships are not a great mode of transport for shipping packages!

Just look at the dates:

2026-04-02 label created
2026-04-09 picked up
2026-04-10 sorted
2026-04-11 at airport
2026-04-15 takes flight
2026-04-18 next sorting facility

Clearly it kept getting lost.

wow, I also posted on LinkedIn and #AboutDotMe's response was to turn on a chat with an #AI version of me. I hated it so much I deleted my account. Not only because of how creepy that is (did they scrap all public info/data from all my links?), but also that someone would turn this on without my consent. They also assumed it was me when all I did was post a link and a screenshot, no verification.
Well, after seeing the number of banners that #AboutDotMe has added, @TheRealPomax suggested I turn it into plain #HTML #CSS #JavaScript.
So I did, with improvements to the icons.
This is not what I expected in mid-March on the #WestCoast #BC #Canada #Winter
