@iFixit my zojirushi rice cooker had a little “non-replaceable” glued in coin battery powering the clock that died. Without it, I couldn’t pre-set it to have oatmeal hot and ready in the morning.

We almost bought a new one before I decided to take it apart and see what was wrong, but it turned out to be a relatively easy fix.

@zachleat I love that due to backwards compatibility we can’t simply fix the plus sign. Some library out there (probably MooTools) certainly used floating point math errors in a load bearing way that would cause the web to fall apart if changed.

Writing modern frontend code without a bundler or any other build tools beyond a file server is kind of great! Except for the part where I totally forgot about how annoying manual cache busting is.
