AXIOM Beta new Power Connector Concept 3D CAD Review - Screen Capture
Anuejn reported progress at this weeks IRC team meeting with reverse engineering the 5D Mark II image sensor, hardware (a 4 layer PCB) has been designed to interface between Z-turn Lite FPGA development board and the image sensor.
While measuring cable lengths for the new power button and power connector in the AXIOM Beta Compact enclosure we discovered that the connectors are longer than anticipated and do not fit the available space :( and for 0.1" headers there are actually no shorter connector alternatives available. Now the proposed solution is a small PCB that does the power splitting and moves the connectors to a place where space is available.
You remember the barrel maker workshop we cleaned out recently to convert into our very own camera electronics manufacturing facility. While not everything is finished yet the big machine journey of stencil printer, pick and place machine and conveyor re-flow oven happened yesterday together with hundreds of other small things. Everything arrived safely and the new space is taking shape!
Latest additions to AXIOM raw recorder software (https://github.com/apertus-open-source-cinema/axiom-recorder/tree/gpu_node_refactor) now allow storing/converting DNGs in unit16 as well as float32 (used with averaging many frames mostly) mode as the color profiling efforts continue
AXIOM Beta has new firmware/scripts available to make image acquisition and output trigger independent from each other. This sounds like a small addition but ultimately enables for example 24fps shooting with 25fps monitoring or high speed bursts collected to memory and then "slowly" output afterwards for high frame rate applications.
