#M81 and #M82 - A lucky shot, to be honest. I couldn't aim very well with the old ball head, and I was very surprised when I saw the two galaxies in the finished image.
Total exposure time approx. 1.5 hours with 210 mm/f3.5 on Pentax K30 & #barndoortracker.

Size does matter! On the left is the old ball head, which always made me wonder why the camera was shaking and I couldn't focus on a subject. On the right is the new one, and now I understand why. Now I managed to capture Orion in the frame – my first ever image of the #orionnebula

On the right, you can see a section of Orion: shoulders, belt, sword hanger with the Orion Nebula. The Flame Nebula also comes out well in the belt. To the left, there is not much to see, as a few hours of exposure are missing for impressive effects. However, a few deep sky objects can be guessed at.

I finally got to try out the new 70-210mm Soligor lens, which I got second-hand for €20. The image shows Orion's Belt with the Flame Nebula (NGC 2024) and – just a faint hint at the top centre of the image – the ‘Casper the Friendly Ghost’ Nebula (M 78).

Pentax K30 with 55mm / f5.6 on barndoortracker, ISO 3200, 51 images with 90sec exposure time each (1.27 hours combined), stacked in Siril. Bortle 5. There was a lot of humidity so the lenses fogged up. Still a lot of work to do...
On the upper left corner is Betelgeuse, the star cluster on the lower right is M35 (NGC2168) and NGC2158 and maybe NGC 2157. NGC 2174 is visible too, NGC 2169 is in the middle of the image.
