#HHKB Pro Classic tip: for some reason PFU decided to not enable the remapping feature for the classic (non wireless) models in their remap tool. This is a feature flag toggle in their App and not actually a firmware limit of the HHKB pro classic models themselves. You can just hexedit Contents/Resources/Assets.car and search for your model string (e.g. PD-KB401B) and you’ll find a JSON blob in which you want to toggle isKeymapChangeable from false to true and then compensate the len change with an extra space after the comma. Voila now you can remap the keyboard as you see fit. On the Windows tool the JSON file is just in the install directory, so even more straightforward there.
Hey fediverse: We’ve built many high-impact tools that we use for security reviews. But mastering them can take time. So we're bringing the mastery to you: we're going to be livestreaming tool workshops on our Twitch and YouTube channels! https://blog.trailofbits.com/2022/11/14/livestream-workshop-fuzzing-echidna-slither/
We’re streamers now

Over the years, we’ve built many high-impact tools that we use for security reviews. You might know some of them, like Slither, Echidna, Amarna, Tealer, and test-fuzz. All of our tools are open sou…

I feel like I've let a bunch of people down with rules and whatnot, but I have some GOOD NEWS....

I would like to introduce you to Alice and Bob. Alice and Bob are running the glitch version of mastodon 4.0.2 and can only federate with each other.

The intention of these instances is to allow researchers to experiment on a close-to-realworld environment without potentially harming the live service.

I forgot to tell you Alice and Bob's full names... It is:
alice.pwniverse.io and bob.pwniverse.io.

Registrations are moderated. If you want to use Alice and Bob, you'll need to register and indicate your purpose for being there. I will generally accept applicants, but keep in mind this environment is not meant to house large numbers of accounts.

The environment is also set to auto-update, and availability isn't a priotity.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

And yes, I know people will want to get under the hood. We can talk about that if you have a use case.

@LivInTheLookingGlass unless you’re talking about a home Mastodon server, in which case I don’t know, but since it’s just webfinger json I imagine so

Are you a user of the nixos-22.05-aarch64 channel? If so, great news:

With the 22.11 release aarch64-linux has been integrated into the nixos-22.11 channel. The same applies for nixos-unstable.

We'll also publish the ISO installer images (minimal and graphical) for aarch64-linux on the website, once it's released.

I'm so happy with our progress on that target.

A group of students designed a CPU, built it on FPGA, coded a development toolchain for it, and ported a Unix clone to the new CPU. Here's their experience:

How we ran a Unix-like OS (Xv6) on our home-built CPU with our home-built C compiler

[Thanks for many comments and votes on Hacker News! ] It’s been two years since I started working as a software engineer. I sometimes tell my colleagues about a student project I did in my junior year of university, and it’s so well-received that I’m writing this post. 1 Now, let me ask you a question. Have you ever designed your own ISA, built a processor of that ISA on FPGA, and built a compiler for it? Furthermore, have you run an operating system on that processor? Actually, we have.

Tailscale has recently been notified of security vulnerabilities in the Tailscale Windows client which allow a malicious website visited by a device running Tailscale to change the Tailscale daemon configuration and access information in the Tailscale local and peer APIs.

To patch these vulnerabilities, upgrade Tailscale on your Windows machines to Tailscale v1.32.3 or later, or v1.33.257 or later (unstable).
