I believe no good analysis of the current situation for science and research can ignore the 80y old prediction made by economist and anthropologist Karl Polanyi in 1944: build liberal globalization based on the govern-mentality that labour, currencies and land markets can regulate themselves and you will get both bolchevism and fascism because such governmental project will ultimately destroy society by spreading unemployment, homelessness, and indebtment.

Et elle savoure jusqu'au dernier "tous ces petits moments, tous ces petits bonheurs", avant de "mourir pour de vrai".

Cette nouvelle me touche particulièrement.
Ce n'est pas seulement d'avoir perdu ou vu des proches affectés de la même bête, ou une question de proximité de génération ou de classe socio-professionnelle, même si ça joue.
Je lis son dernier podcast, en mai 2023, quand elle témoigne d'une amélioration, la seule depuis l'annonce. Penser à une vie qu'on imagine suspendue en apesanteur, dans l'espoir du mieux, si belle avant la fin.
