A couple of tips for intarsia #knitting:
👉 Place the new colour over the working yarn one stitch before the colour change to “lock” it in place
👉 Do not distort the first/last stitch when weaving in the end. Make sure the two legs of the stitch are pulled in opposite directions
Practice your intarsia with squares 20 and 21 of the Learn-to-Knit Blanket.

Double #knitting

Pinhole cast on
This cast on allows you to knit in the round starting from the centre without leaving a hole!

I'm thinking of #knitting little spring baskets as gifts and this is the ideal way to start 🙌🐣🎁💝

Single pass brioche
Working two rows of brioche at the same time was a game changer for me! It’s a bit like double #knitting. I hold the knit stitch colour to the right 🧶

No curl cast off
I love the clean, minimalistic look of this cast off 🤩 I have used it on cotton cardigan sleeves and love that really neat finish🧶

That said ☝️ the name is a bit misleading… While it curls much less than a standard cast off, it will still curl if your cast-off edge is too long. So: I love it on the sleeves, but wouldn’t use it for the hem. For that, you’d need a deeper folded hem to avoid curling 😉

#knitting

Every now and then, you might need to cast off purlwise 🧶
It’s quite simple: just like a regular cast-off, but instead of #knitting the stitches, you purl them. This way you get a purl ridge at the edge of your work.
I personally use the so-called Norwegian purl, but you can use whichever purling method you prefer 🙌🌷🧶

How to weave in (some of) your ends as you go 🧶
I like to get at least some of my ends out of the way while I’m still #knitting, so this is how I join a new colour.
☝️ Start by fraying the yarn end to taper it.

Remember to stretch 🙆🏻‍♀️
We all know #knitting is an amazingly exciting hobby, but there’s one downside: it’s quite sedentary.
You may have seen Dorothea’s hand exercises, but, as someone rightly pointed out, knitters need to take care of their neck and shoulders too!
The human head weighs around 5 kg — so these muscles are doing a lot of work! 🏋💪
‼️ Remember: if you experience any discomfort or pain while doing the exercises, stop immediately and consult a healthcare provider.
