I genuinely think the worst thing the internet did to reading was convince people that finishing books is a competitive sport. You don't need to read 52 books a year. You just need to read. Books you like. At your own pace. And think about them for longer than a TikTok video.

Sociologist Yves Jeanrenaud developed the app Nearby Glasses (currently only Android; an iOS version is coming he says) that detects #Meta glasses (often used for nefarious purposes) through their Bluetooth Company Identifier, and "displays a notification when a smart glass is nearby (distance may be customised)".

Anyway the reason I roll my eyes at most of the discussion about "AI", "AGI", "the singularity", "intelligence self-improvement feedback loop" is that like, it happened, it's already happened, it's been happening, it's us. We're it.

Kurzweil talked about lusting for a machine that can make him smarter. I have that, it's a piece of paper. I can write math on a piece of paper and solve problems I can't solve in my head. I can upload all the information in the world directly into my brain (books).

Allí, los activistas de Fox Glove y @GlobalActionPlan UK están litigando en los tribunales contra la implantación de Centros de Datos de Hyperescala en sus territorios.

También lanzando crowdfundings para financiarlos, lo que nos inspiró.

Bien, pues ahora el gobierno británico ha admitido que fue un error imponer centros de datos de hiperescala a la población.
