And the same aurora in a bit of a timelapse form.
We never have auroras where I live in Poland. Today there was one and it was so strong you could literally see it against street lights.
…and I managed to get the scammer to click on my own phishing link 🤣

Oh, look, I’ve been tasked by the Executive Director of the Python Software Foundation with a secret mission to personally purchase (?) gift cards (??) for top performers (???) that I would be reimbursed for (????) after I sent the list of codes over email in a spreadsheet (?????).

This is an obvious scam attempt, those emails were never from Deb Nicholson, but I led the scammer on to see what was gonna happen. DON’T GET SCAMMED, PEOPLE!

My favorite use of a local LLM is asking granite4 questions about the use of the English language that I’d be too embarrassed for Anthropic employees to read.
Oh well...
Looks like Tallinn’s got pretty good #Python adoption.

Instructions unclear. Was I supposed to take a picture of @hugovk or take a picture of a picture of @hugovk?

When I was like 10 years old, I was fascinated by the movie “Highlander”. Today, its cultural significance doesn’t go far beyond the soundtrack by Queen, but it’s still fun to watch if you’re into firmly ‘80s aesthetics.

Anyway, I managed to visit both the MacLeod castle from the movie, but also the real seat of house MacLeod on the Isle of Skye. I saw their actual claymore. Better yet, I did all that with Torquil MacLeod, a member of the clan. 10 year old me would be mind-blown.

Similarly, taking photos with a camera feels tactile in ways that smartphones cannot match, even my iPhone 16 Pro whose 5x zoom is incredible. But there's something beautiful in having physical controls, in having to understand and come to terms with the limits of the camera body and the lens you use.

Those things direct your attention and allow finding a perspective you'd otherwise miss. I quite literally look at the world differently through a camera.
