Was trying to find folks talking about a
New York Times article on Threads. The filters there may be a little too broad as it thinks I'm trying to find CSAM.
Am getting no search results for it on Mastodon, but that may be that there are no results, not a suppression issue.
Had a wonderful walking get to know you session today with an academic whose work I admire.
And also it was beautiful in DC.
Yesterday was Aaron Swartz day. As always there was a great set of speakers speaking on important issues.

It is also a time to remember Aaron and ask "what would Aaron do?" if he were alive and had your opportunities today.
Wrote up a few notes on the Biden AI Executive Order & Draft OMB Guidance.

Executive Orders take a lot of work, consensus building, political capital accruing, team assembling, process pushing, diverse expertise collecting, bureaucracy hacking, cooperation, listening, and a ton of Microsoft Word redline versions to get out the door.
Hundreds of people working many, many hours.
Am excited to see the AI Executive Order text out in the world. In the meantime, a hearty congratulations to all the people that made it happen. Especially to my old team at #WHOSTP.
Finally wrote up a post about my time in the Biden-Harris admin.

Working with the wonderful US Chief Technology Officer team is what I miss most from leaving the administration.
