To everyone's surprise, Toot! v17.0 is out!

https://toot.to/

This is the first in a series of releases that implement support for new Mastodon features. More will come in the near future, but this version offers:

* Updated to use more modern versions of various iOS functionality. As a result, however, the minimum supported iOS version is now 13.
* Bugfixes.

It's a decentralized network that doesn't belong to any one party, so by definition there is no single culture on it. Different corners have different expectations and customs.
I wrote a little thing about FTC consent decrees, and Twitter, and how all the people who were facing potential criminal charges for not complying with the FTC consent decree quit Twitter last night... and why Elon's not caring about the FTC doesn't much matter if the FTC cares about him... Does Twitter Have Any Employees Left Who Remember That The Company Is Under A Strict Consent Decree With The FTC?

Yesterday I tweeted out a question about whether or not there was anyone left at Twitter who remembered that the company was under a pretty strict FTC consent decree: Apparently the answer was yes,…
