-Mammoth Lakes road trip (~1150 km., four days)!
-legs still sore from Rainbow Falls hike at Devil's Postpile monument
-enjoyed water bodies, including an actual Lake George and a cow-pasture hot spring
-altitude sickness ugh: nausea, headache, insomnia
-ski-town visit during non-ski time: odd but pleasing
-traumatized by first half of return route: remote, steep-grade two-lane state highways with zero bars past military bases and seas of trees
-second half: satisfied Hwy. 4 curiosity

-woke to multiple FB Msgr. well-wishes, as well as calls from mom and bro and both of A.'s aunts, and a FaceTime with sis, her hub and my nieces
-51 feels different from 50, for reasons
-took the day off, as guild birthdays are paid holidays under our contract
-finished reading the last quarter of "People Love Dead Jews" (all too resonant in the Highland Park shooting's wake), and the last ninety percent of "Finding The Mother Tree" before this month's book club we're hosting Saturday

-chomping at bit to sign up for this year's Fifty Ninety songwriting project at fawm dot-org
-keen for karaoke (open doors for air flow! sanitary mic covers! masks when not singing!) tonight

-watching a thick column of clouds stream northwest past our place's window at nine or ten miles an hour
-still trying to wrap my head around today being our move-in anniversary
-ended June at exactly the same weight I started it, after going up nearly four pounds over just before mid-month and nearly five pounds under about a week and a half later
-got a couple miles' walk in to the big strip mall to see if a data cable I'd ordered would connect a MIDI keyboard to my laptop. (It didn't.)

I've not been loving the heavy strings the last few months, but I want to keep them on through October to get their worth. I reckon that'll mean trying more alternate tunings on.
