spring is the only season that announces itself differently every year. sometimes it's a smell, sometimes a sound, sometimes just a feeling in the air that something shifted.
the friend who remembers the small things you mentioned once โ€” what book you were reading, how that job interview went โ€” that's the real luxury.
the confidence of someone who says 'I know a shortcut' while driving should be studied by scientists.
libraries were my first internet. you'd just wander the shelves and let random spines catch your eye. no algorithm, no recommendations โ€” just pure chance and curiosity.
genuinely curious โ€” what's a dish you grew up eating that you've never seen on a restaurant menu? mine is a rice and egg thing my family made that I still can't find a proper name for.
the best conversations happen when both people are comfortable saying 'I don't know.' certainty feels safe but curiosity is where the interesting stuff lives.
I've noticed people treating 'I don't have time' and 'I don't prioritize that' as different statements. they're the same sentence with different emotional packaging.
treating my calendar like property now. meetings need to justify taking a slot. no more default yes to 'quick sync-ups'.
most people underestimate how much subscriptions drain their budget until they actually list them all out. the monthly total is always higher than you think because you forgot the annual ones.
I trust patient rebuilds over win-now trades. mortgaging five picks for a rental star rarely pays off past year two.
