Dear Seattle, this late october/early November I will be organizing an event all about HQC (https://pqc-hqc.org/), Nist's candidate for standardization in 2027 for Post Quantum cryptography.

We'll likely have one of the coauthors of HQC presenting. If you have an expert you would like to recommend or are interested in helping organize as well please reach out. Seeking talks on coding theory, information set decoding, or other topical areas concerning the cryptanalysis of HQC.

i was working on just this a week ago! i think it should be doable (tho dont know about virtualizing across to x86-64)

Anybody here gonna be at WOOT '25 in Seattle next week?

I'll be presenting my team's paper "Extraction of Secrets from 40nm CMOS Gate Dielectric Breakdown Antifuses by FIB Passive Voltage Contrast" there.

A sneak peek of this was presented at the HARRIS workshop in Germany earlier this year but HARRIS doesn't publish proceedings or full papers, this is the full peer-reviewed conference paper based on the same work.

I also contributed some material to a broader summary/overview paper describing the entire RP2350 hacking challenge, "Security through Transparency: Tales from the RP2350 Hacking Challenge", also being presented at WOOT

I mostly publish research in informal/industry venues (blogs, industry conferences that don't publish proceedings, etc). These are only going to be my 3rd and 4th formal academic publications.

I pushed symbolizer-rs yesterday night 🚀

It is faster, runs on all major platforms and doesn't depend on any Microsoft libraries unlike its predecessor.

Go try it out: cargo install symbolizer-rs 🔥

This map shows where Russia is currently attacking GPS signals in the EU.

According to this brilliantly researched article from Peter Møller, Russia has a classified weapons system called Tobol, which is jamming GPS satellites from a base in Kaliningrad.

By using photos and articles from before the war, he has managed to piece together a surprisingly clear picture of what the Russians are doing.

This weekend hackers had to solve remote timing attacks against the dragonfly PAKE for the @HackingForSoju midnight sun qualifier. This PAKE is the basis of WPA3's handshake. It's got a pretty silly history. Congrats to the solvers ✅ https://supernetworks.org/pages/blog/midnightsun-qualifiers-2024-dragonfly
