Assistant Professor at Washington University School of Medicine. We study the physical basis through which intrinsically disordered protein regions confer biological function (he/him/his).

Hi all! #introduction

We are a virtual seminar series about all aspects of intrinsically disordered proteins (IDPs). Scientific fields include: #biophysics, #biochemistry, #cellbiology, #bioinformatics, #softmatterphysics etc.

Our new program is just out with seminars on the first Thursday of each week (CET 7PM, EST 1PM) .

IDPseminars are run by @Proteinmagnus and @alexholehouse

Is there a mastodon app that makes it easy to find and add people?

The distinction of federations is a conceptual choice that underpins the logic of mastodon (fine), but when I click on someone I follow and it says they have “50 followers” but it can only see 10/50 (because the other 40 are on different servers) I can’t help but think this is not really working in anyone’s favor? Surely someone’s solved this problem?

This is getting pretty radical... 😡
Well, do follow me on @SjorsScheres

Hello Mastadon! Here's my #introduction: I'm an Assistant Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Utah specializing in molecular and cellular visualization, particularly 3D animation. We're interested in thinking about how to use visualization in scientific research, communication, education, and outreach. Here's a little montage of animations I've worked on over the years. Do you recognize any?
