My read of the month!

Was this utterly gorgeous romance from Anna Burke, Spindrift. It’s got two wonderful MCs, a bunch of delightfully quirky yet totally supportive friends, and a beautiful setting. It’s also got a poignant study of grief at its centre, and it takes a lot of skill to blend that with a romance in the way that Anna did. Can’t wait to read book two in the series...

My read of the month!

Well, in this case, it’s my listen of the month 😁

I’ve been working my way through the Kate Delafield series by Katherine V. Forrest the last couple of months, and oh boy what a fantastic series they are! Police procedural at its best, with the perfect splash of romance.

And the narrator, Kate Zane? One of the absolute best I’ve heard. Incredible range of voices and brilliant acting ❤️

My read of the month!

An absolutely gorgeous book, with two beautiful love stories woven through it, along with some historical perspective and a detailed study of how much even just a single event can ricochet around a whole family for generations to come.

You’ll need tissues at hand, but trust me, it’s totally worth your tears. If I could give it 6 stars on a rating site, I would!

My read of the month!

Another good reading month, helped by plenty of time to stick my nose in books over the long Easter weekend 😀

And my read of the month is this gem from Jess Lea, A Curious Visit. It’s the follow-up to A Curious Woman, which I adored, and as a sequel it does that thing that’s so rare - turns out, in some ways, even better than the first one! I was so glad it did, and I was so happy to read lots more about the lovely Margaret and Bess.

My read of the month!
Found myself drawn to reading quite a few historical novels this month - not sure why 🤷 But as a result, I have these two as my joint reads of the month:
Big London Dreams by Clare Lydon
&
Last Night at the Telegraph Club by Malinda Lo
Both books perfectly captured the era they portrayed, as well as the difficulty of two women having to hide their love from the world and everyone they knew. And each story gave me the ending I desired (I’ll leave it at that - no spoilers!!)

My read of the month!

I read SO many books in February compared to previous months - yay! And I read so many GOOD books too!

My top pick was These Thin Lines, by @milenamckay. Just a ‘chef’s kiss’ of an age-gap romance with oodles of drama and gorgeousness.

My highly commended reads are: Sprinkled in the Stars by Violet Morley, Something’s Different by @quinnivins, The Christmas Catch by Clare Lydon, and The Business of Love by Charley Clarke. All fabulous!
