If someone started an #automotive #nonprofit to provide #resources for techs and specialists like key codes, #continuingeducation (with a focus on electrical, programming/coding, embedded systems/networks, and all the stuff you NEED to know for new cars) case studies, #networking events, free classes/videos, #mentorship, would any #embeddedsystems or #car people be interested? Basically building a better #NASTF or one not dependent on dealerships, because they'd #reverseengineer that shit first

2/13/2026 UPDATE: I GOT MY FIRST PAYCHECK VIA DIRECT DEPOSIT TODAY!! WOOHOO!!!

This means I can stop begging for money! Thank you all so much for boosting and contributing to my family's survival over the last few months. You have no idea what a difference it has made. We could not have done this without you!

~~~~~
Hey, folks. I hate doing this, but my family and I need help with money for food & gas. This is unfortunately going to be a regular request until I can get a new job. (See my pinned posts for my resume.)
We average about $35/day for food (2 adults, 2 kids) and $10/day for gas, if we are being cheap. Dog food is $22/week. So we need around $335-$340 to make it through the week, making sure everyone is fed and gets to school. Any help, however small, is deeply appreciated.
@aka_panda_333 @transience Historically many humans went to bed earlier, got up in the middle of the night to tend fires, read and chill, then went back to bed.
Our single block sleep is just a modern cultural norm.
@autistics @actuallyadhd @aka_panda_333 @Soldusty @nu
Also entirely relatable, especially as the night is quieter and (obviously) darker so not as overstimulating as daytime... My nocturnal tendencies alongside my light and sound sensitivity are why I joke about being #BatuallyAutistic 🦇
@aka_panda_333 @Soldusty @actuallyadhd @autistics thats very relatable, whenever the sun is out i just feel such sleepiness
So as an #actuallyAutistic person (I think), I do have an issue with touch - I am especially sensitive to it. Which is something of a pain.
But also, I think it is just that touch is very intense. I know that, when visiting somewhere, I like to touch the buildings, because I sense so much more about the place through that. I know that if I touch someone on their bare skin (say, in summer on the tube), it is powerful.
So it is not that I don't like touch. It is more that it is incredibly intense for me. So has to be just right.
Incidentally, in Quakers, we shake hands. I find this touch of skin to be very powerful.
#thespankinggene CHAPTER 1 p3
"today, in the world of this Allistic dominance, of ideas of Human Nature, “types,” sound like fixed states, permanent things.This is not the case and this view is problematic as can be." fuck yes this needs to be said louder WHAT TRUE HUMAN NATURE IS IS IRRELAVANT WE CAN FUCKING CHOOSE WHAT WE DO JUST CHOOSE TO DO BETTER??and do 'fixed' states, not inhibit growth and the fucking evolution of the very genes they are saying we are stuck with? selffulfilling something
#thespankinggene CHAPTER 1 p2
"There’s no “warrior gene,” it’s a whole bunch of chimpanzee genes, is all, I think this is the current public view?" i think so too? actually, idk if ppl see their dna as something that shapes their thinking, i think they mostly see it as the instructions for creating a physical biological entity, not something that actually shapes your outputs and thoughts. but yes, that we are just monkeys doing monkey things. but that completely ignores we have free will???
#thespankinggene CH1 p1
"I hope they agree with me, but I need to think through everything myself anyway." hahaha FELT thats how i feel going in to this book lmaooo 'yeah, i like where you are going with this, but imma scrutinize it the whole way down until it fits into my framework or gets dismissed' bahahaha sorry, maybe thats just me lol
"of course there’s no gene for anything so complex" lol silly epigeneticists, are genes not EXACTLY what determine the very amount of complexity present?
reading #thespankinggene by @punishmenthurts and figured itd be fun to just type along my thoughts here while reading. perhaps someone can find entertainment in my ramblings hahaha
"It’s Neurodiversity Theory from the Dark Side" haha i love it already
