Some little kids were scared, but I crouched low and imitating being scared myself... and that worked!

My favorite question to ask folks was "Are *you* keeping the savanna safe for all the critters?" I think the implication that they're a lion or have lionly duties was well-received :3

Looking for advice on how to start with something like this (RaspberryPi or similar powered noisemaker). I have been paralyzed at getting started, and basically am not sure where to begin building a shopping list or what website I should browse. I can imagine the software side of things, but picking hardware has got me baffled.
