When I was younger I lived on a bicycle for over a year. I mentioned that on a Python podcast last year, and Gabriel Aldaz happened to be listening. He hosts The Accidental Bicycle Tourist podcast, and he reached out to record an episode.

If you're curious what it's like to live on a bike for a year, have a listen:

@TonyYarusso @ai6yr If you use a loyalty card of some kind or have an online account linked to the cards used in store, you can typically view in store purchases on the stores website. Even if you add the card after the purchase. As long as you realize it’s already data mined at least it’s convenient for these times.

Django Events Foundation North America | DjangoCon US 2025 has been announced!

Hello everyone, DjangoCon US 2025 will be in Chicago, Illinois on September 8-12th, 2025.

@CodenameTim this is an interesting idea. When you say you’re skipping the personal family questions what do you mean? Is it genealogy, what does uncle bob do for a living or what is aunt Suzy’s cats name type stuff?
@webology it’s like the Parks and Rec subplot where the assistant only schedules meetings for March 31, which she doesn’t believe exists… https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Fv930onzK0U

@webology @fallenhitokiri Today I had a very wavy video signal after a Windows reboot - the video looked like heat on pavement in the summer. No settings changes fixed it and neither did a reboot of the NanoKVM. A physical disconnect/reconnect of the HDMI cable brought it back to normal, oddly enough.
@ai6yr Tailscale is quite excellent at tunneling for these types of scenarios, and free for personal and hobby use. Many other good suggestions on disks etc but I wanted to bring Tailscale up as a means of keeping devices connected dynamically.
@webology @fallenhitokiri I’ve had them running at least 3 weeks and not run into a required reset of the NanoKVM yet, I agree if they don’t stay stable that will limit utility. I have looked much into keyboard controllable switches yet to expand to other devices, but device at a time these are proving more reliable than VNC for the devices I’m using on.

🚀 Feature Friday: Django's update_or_create() got Smarter in v5.0!

The new create_defaults argument lets you handle creation vs update scenarios elegantly, bringing more power to Django's object management.
