AI in science fiction was described as infallible.

"AI" in real life comes with a disclaimer that you shouldn't actually trust anything it says.

The American mind cannot comprehend British drinking culture (waiting outside the pub for it to open at midday).
irl fallout reference (I found a bottle cap on the floor)
Recently I've seen several Linkin Park fans insist that Chester's voice was unique because of his pain but it's actually so disrespectful to look at someone who spent years perfecting their singing voice and suggest that it's because of the trauma they went through.

Using "AI" to generate images of cats is the most pointless endeavour ever undertaken by anyone.

If there's one thing that cat owners like to do it's take photos of their actual living cats to post online.

Hey new people and those thinking of joining, you do NOT need to sign up on huge servers!

You can follow and interact with people on any server from any server, the servers are connected.

It would really, really help the network right now if you could sign up on medium or small size servers. You will still be able to follow and interact with whoever you want, and the network as a whole will work much better.

A good safe place for beginners to find servers to join is https://joinmastodon.org/servers

imagine deciding which engineers to keep around based on lines of code and choosing to keep the ones who wrote the MOST
I don't think Mastodon or the fediverse has ever received this much attention before. It's a great opportunity for people to finally see that social media can be done differently, that it can be a protocol not under control of any single company.
I think I might be doing Mastodon again.
I need my TV to understand that I do not, nor will I ever under any circumstances, want motion smoothing enabled.
