Film photography and printing. Former software engineer trying to find a new way. http://anders.conbere.org/photography

I’m planning to do a lot more UV printing this year. So I made a little hood for my UV lamp. It’ll at least keep the UV from bouncing around my house, but hopefully it will also help me eke out a couple more minutes of exposure time!

This welta weltur is a great 6x4.5 folder. But after I got it working last summer it still spit little fibers all over my film. The bellows are pretty old and worn and I think the insides are just starting to fall apart.

Tonight I’m trying painting the inside with a dilute mixture of acrylic paint and elmer’s glue to see if I can get the fabric to stabilize.

noticed infinity was off on my Mamiya Universal this weekend. I was out of town and so focused on the ground glass instead. But today was an opportunity to adjust the focus.

One of the nice things about these cameras is that they are really very simple. Infinity focus adjustment was a 20 minute procedure (including some clean up) and maybe another 20 min to ensure all the lenses were set correctly.

Been playing with a multiframe panorama idea in moving crowded areas. Here is a part of pike place market. four 4x5 negatives with a 90mm lens (~60 degree field of view) so about 240 degrees in total.

In this case I think the distortion from the 90 isn’t what I wanted. And my 1/2s shutter speed was too slow, I want more definition in the people. And I want a different scene, maybe outdoors.

Need to work on my photoshop

After 10-15 minutes. There is a small low spot on the bottom right. So I’ll grind it a touch more.

Been putting off the chore of grinding glass for a minute. last time I did it with 400 grit carbide and it left a noticeably “chipped” looking grind when magnified. Today I’m starting with 25 micro aluminum oxide and it’s noticeably softer (read: slower). But the grind is like a soft frosted glass. Excited to see how it turns out.

I have got a couple of spam calls on Telegram this week. I thought I’d set the permissions so that only my contacts could contact me. But on closer inspection it appears that telegram has changed the game.

In order to stop the spam, I need to pay for their premium subscription product.

Well they can absolutely fuck right off.

A photo of mine was published in the first Seattle Film Club community zine.

I’m super excited that this got made and hope we get to do more. 32 more prints out in the world. Congrats to everyone who had images selected.

hey #retrocomputing any one in seattle want this cerulean blue imac (free)? It boots to a disk issue as I recall? Has a matching mouse and keyboard and some other peripherals.
They did me dirty so here’s a punch in on the spider webs in the first image. This is a 6x9 HP5+ negative deved in rodinal so we can see film grain at this level.
