I've been working on @kde accessibility for a year.
And I'm up for a few more, as I slowly but surely make it easier to see my own PC :)
I am a blind game developer, a11y advocate, and an Accessibility Engineer working with KDE e.V. on Plasma/KDE accessibility.
Views are my own, not that of organizations I work with.

I've learned (and am still learning) a lot about KWin specifically, and although it's *just a little bit* more complex than any "compositor" I've written for a hacking video game... It's fun.
I find working on KWin specifically has helped me be better at architecting my game engine since you'd be surprised how much they have in common in terms of graphics programming.

So like...what is there out there for forum software, other than Discourse or Flarum?
phpBB is an unfortunate experience on mobile, even tough I like it on desktop a lot.
MyBB is similar, and unfortunately seems mostly unmaintained. I also can't get it to use SSO for login.
I'm not as much a fan of Discourse's UX nowadays.
Haven't tried Flarum yet.
But i do want to run a forum. And no, not inside of Discord.
A lot of what I was (and am somewhat still) struggling with was extremely personal. I'm keeping it that way.
But... Just...
I had to rip my PC tower from the floor because its feet were stuck to it. Because of a spilled drink.
So yeah. It was that bad. It no longer is.
A combination of mental wellneing issues, subtle hardware failure (now fixed), and my room being an atrocious place to work in... made working on Plasma extremely difficult for me lately.
I still did try, and I intend to finish what I started over the past couple of weeks.
But ugh... Don't be me, y'all... If your brain tells you to stop trying to program for a while, you need to listen. And you need to solve the problem making you feel that way.
Would anyone watch me do KDE dev streams even though I'm not that great at doing KDE dev streams yet?
Because I just expensed a boom arm...
And about that whole "proprietary software becoming less accessible thing:"
You could say "then just use FOSS equivalents"
But, you see, dear sir, my government is not free and open-source.
I'm tired of hearing about Trump
I'm tired of hearing about age verification
I'm tired of hearing about AI
I'm tired of hearing about mass surveillance
I'm tired of proprietary software becoming less accessible to the blind or otherwise
I'm tired of everything
I want to write code
I want to make 3D models
I want to make music
and I want this constant state of anxiety to *shut the fuck up.*
