💯 Especially in the early morning hours before everyone is up. Best time to focus, read, and reflect.

Next up: The discovery of Genesis.

I've become that parent 😆

***overhear my kids complain about something***

Me: You know, back when I was your age...

Kids: Ughh... dad, we know. You walked like 5 miles to school everyday, in the middle of winter, with only your hopes and dreams keeping you warm.

Happy "We almost there" everyone!

The view of this morning's #sunrise illuminated the cloud streaks across the sky, making it look like someone was #painting colorful lines on a blue canvas 💚

Got a chance to take some moon pics this morning, while taking my daughter to the bus stop 😊🌕

I was skeptical, but man, #kdramas are something else. In addition to great content and storylines, Kdrama's have also helped improve my speed #reading proficiency 😆.

The series that currently has me in a chokehold is Tempest.

I gained a love for #etymology during my undergrad studies. Learning about the origin and history of words has really helped me broaden my perspectives.

Take my first #name for example: ➡️ Tyrone.

Despite its connection to the Afro-American community, and popularized by Ms. Erykah Badu, Tyrone is not a "black" name.

I learned that my name is of #Irish origin and means "Owen's Land."

Last few days have been rough, but beautiful #sunrises always lift my spirits.

Long distance #running has never been my favorite thing to do. Not in high school track & field and definitely not during my 20 years in the Army 🤣. But I will say that the long runs were bearable because I wasn't the only one embracing the suck 😆. I appreciate everything I gained from it, but I am happy that I have reached the point where I can choose my morning routine 😁

I am what some would say "old school". I grew with the mindset not to question our parents actions, even if we felt they were wrong.
Even though I am a parent now, & the authoritative figure in my house, I am still human. & despite my years of experience, I still make mistakes. I want my children to respect my #parenting, not fear it.
And that's not to say I don't, or didn't, respect my parents. I do/did. But I've come to understand that they parented me in the best way they understood how to.
