Podcasts will be included as an experimental feature in the next Capy release. Put simply, this feature is meant to make podcasts playable. There are much better fully featured podcast apps if you want more!

I may manage to get out one more Capy release in 2025. There are some small bug fixes queued, but one big one is returning the theme selector to settings. Thanks to anyone who reached out on GitHub about this.

FreshRSS labels have been an ongoing project in Capy Reader. I added article labels in the latest release thanks to a nudge from @freshrss. Here's a demo of how it works!

Image swiping! The next version of Capy will include the ability to tap or swipe through all images within an article.

I got Fever running on my own machine nearly 10 years after it shut down. I've been fascinated by Fever since it was something different, not just RSS-as-email. Projects like Kagi News are also exploring this space.

I plan to explore Fever more. It was truly one-of-a-kind.

I've been heads down on performance in Capy Reader. I found one improvement resulting in a 20x speedup for long articles, 100ms down to ~5ms. I've also added a slight fade to complement the faster navigation speed. Demo below.

A new, smallish theme selector coming soon to Capy Reader.

It's been a long time coming but I've started to update the app to the latest version of Material Design Expressive. Finally, I can decrease the size of the bottom toolbar without breaking conventions. Before on the left, after to the right.

The Sunset theme in Capy Reader (left) will match Feedbin's theme (right) in the next version of the app. I reworked it to use the true base color. Previously I had relied on the Material Theme Builder which got it wrong and lightened the color too much.

The latest dev release introduces the "Sunset" theme based on @feedbin's own sepia tone theme. I'm hopeful that this helps personalize the reading experience while still putting the content up front. Let me know what you think!
