Anon OpinPodcasting equipment should be much more expensive. The barrier for entry is far too low.

"arrive between 12:00 - 1:00" and it shows up at 12:30?
OR
"arrive between 12:00 and 1:00" and it shows up in 3 days time?
In my experience of DPD they could send me a text saying "it'll be Tuesday afternoon you cunt" and I still wouldn't complain because it would actually show up on Tuesday afternoon, unlike almost anyone else who never make the slot they say they will.

@Wifiwits @anon_opin While podcasts exist for grifters and scumbags, the world is worse. If there were an opportunity to price them out of even starting to get a following, then I'm all for it. The solution is not as simple as "just stop listening, no one is making you".

Take someone like Joe Rogan (although obviously he's not actually the subject of this). I have never once listened to his podcast, but other people do, and I genuinely think that the world is a worse place because it exists.
It's a fine line between this and pricing nice normal people out of genuinely lovely podcasts they might want to make, but the negative impact of disciples of Rogan et all means that's a sacrifice I'd be fine with.
@mansr @anon_opin a fair question I guess, but I feel like the answer is obvious; because if it was relevant, I would have used it at some point?

On that page, I remember what the hypotenuse is and it's equal to the other two sides, and that's your lot.
And have I ever needed to calculate a hypotenuse? No.
@anon_opin I'm not sure if I agree necessarily with "maths" as a subject (remembering (or rather NOT remembering) most of what I learned 20 years ago because it's irrelevant).
But if you're willing to compromise on "maths" being more generically about "understanding numbers"; including in a way that students then understand how to apply to real world things like "budgeting" and "understanding exactly how far Klarna bends you over before fucking you" then I think I'm 100% on board.
