Zheka Khalétsky on Instagram: "Something is about to happen behind this tree and the tree knows it. The trunks — three or four of them fused at the base, separating upward like fingers opening — are backlit by a fog that has turned amber and, improbably, pink. There's a figure standing in the distance, small enough to be a rumour. The light behind them is doing something that light in photographs almost never does: it's being theatrical without being dramatic. It has the quality of the moment in a concert hall when the house lights dim but the music hasn't started — when the whole audience holds its breath at once and nobody has agreed to do this. The bark catches the glow and holds it the way old wood holds warmth. I stood in the dark on the wrong side of the scene, where you're not supposed to be, and that's how I know this photograph is true. The best things always look like this from the back. "The Rumour Before the Overture" Fine art photograph — original and prints available Link in bio → SaatchiArt License inquiries: DM . . . #fineart #nightphotography #fineartphotography #contemporaryart #ArtCollectors"

Zheka Khalétsky on Instagram: "A palm sheds its old leaf bases the way an institution sheds its founding members — upward, without looking back. But what gathers in the spaces left behind is not emptiness. It's a caucus. Ferns have arrived first, claiming the vertical gaps with the quiet authority of someone who got there early and took the best seats. Ivy follows at the edges. Clover shows up where there's still a scrap of light. None of them were invited. All of them belong. The weathered grey stumps of the shed stems stand like columns in a chamber that was never designed as one — and the ferns drape across them like arguments being made in whispers, too many to follow, too coordinated to be accidental. What strikes me is the softness of it all. This is not conquest. It's consensus, arrived at slowly, in the dark, by organisms that don't need to agree because they already want the same thing.
