@llamasoft_ox Check the inside of the tyre if you haven't and you get another puncture straight away. If it's anything like my route down here on Portland, and there's lots of brambles and thorny bushes on your ride, it's more than likely that. I've lost count of the amount of times i've ended up with a thorn stuck in the tyre. Roll on the return of the light. It's swampy season again and i'd be better of with a boat on my route some days 😅 🦆 🦆 🦆

@llamasoft_ox Lovely to see Victoria settling in. And her and Autumn seeming to be getting along. Always a pleasure to watch these. I lost my best friend Maddie last week. She was a cat that wondered into my shed one night, and over time came to trust me and live with me. She'd been with me for years and was my companion and soul mate. She followed me everywhere and was always there while i coded and tinkered with things. Watching two amazing people and their furry friends brings a smile :)

8580 SID - added control over the sustain register, which allows for volume control of each voice. This is probably the trickiest aspect of the SID to get down. Reading about issues with exports from goat tracker put me on the right path with the ADSR generator....

Throwing as much as i can at one voice in an attempt to crash it or cause drop outs. It does neither. Other than the odd click from hopping over pwm extremes. Not bad for 1 voice and 1 wave form.

@loudfpv Ceers. It's a test piece for a fully fledged 3 voice SID module. I'm using an atmega1284 to read incoming control voltages and write the corresponding note and pwm data to voice 1 of the SID. At the moment i'm just getting a feel for the chip, but i've done a similar thing with the AY3-8910 and YM2149 to good effect. The ultimate goal being to make a module where the chip behaves as closely as is possible to how it would in it's home environment via CV and gate inputs.

1voct SID single voice test circuit. CV 1 to pitch and CV 2 to PWM. Messing about with different things in prep for making a 3 voice eurorack module. AY3-8910 and YM2149 make a valiant attempt at doing a bit of the loader music written by Rob Hubbard for the 1984 game sanxion. Not bad for these humble and in comparison to the SID inferior sound chips. I'll come back to this when the rig is free and do the whole thing.

AY3-8910 tries to do SID voice. Syncing the internal modulator to the bass note periods for pretend pwm. Not bad at all for the humble AY without resorting to the intense cpu control of the volume registers, as might be found in much demoscene stuff.

More AY3 / YM2149 sound chip action. AY300 and YM300, each as a three voice stack, with some SID drums as the driver. Lots of lovely trills when it gets going and some buff octaving C64 style bass line action. The kind of tune that'd definitely have had the telly cranked in my school daze. It's awesome👾🕹📺🙂

Finished. AY300 and YM300 chip tune oscillators. Chip tune oscillators running the AY3-8910 and the YM2149. Both more or less the same. The YM isn't as dirty as the AY and not quite as gnarly. Both get 10/10 for retroness and in sounding like ZX spectrum and Atari ST daze. Especialy with the modulator accessible to pull off 'sid voice' kinds of tricks that can be found in the demoscene.
