@distinct ha ha, I’m never on here, because most of AniTwitter went to blue sky. Life has been insane since the AnimEigo buyout but I’m making it work.
@distinct OMG congrats!!
@macjustice I enjoyed it at the time, but fully expect it has aged like milk
Dammit, am I gonna have to dust off this account and actually use it for stuff?

Oh nooooo the "museum" that heavily watermarked old television and used youtube as their backend storage while collecting monetization is now in trouble, cry cry

Thanks for letting me know, everyone, lighting the LEDs on my blackmagic design capture card now for thoughts and prayers

@tojikomori Also, we didn’t do it, the licensor did (or rather, had it done by the lab that did the remaster). But nonetheless, it was the correct choice.
@tojikomori It’s more that letterboxing in the VHS era was done very haphazardly and usually by eye. 1.85:1 mimics what would’ve been used in a properly calibrated theater.
@invalidname Appreciate it, but it appears we got another source.
…and the trailer we need isn’t even on em. 😅

This always sucks to see, but the first mistake was treating YouTube as an archive. DON'T TREAT YOUTUBE AS AN ARCHIVE. https://twitter.com/AndrewFurtaco/status/1652378679933292544

“Just heard back from @TeamYouTube We're out with no other options? Is there no way to learn which file was the offender and remove that? Otherwise our entire archive is gone forever? Hundreds and hundreds of videos gone? With no strikes on our account before this.”

There were multiple damaged shots on the negatives that needed frame by frame restoration, and some general dirt/dust cleanup. I had the honor of handling that for this release. It looks amazing and such a huge upgrade over every past release. https://twitter.com/discotekmedia/status/1654552823215050752

“Iria: Zeiram the Animation is up to pre-order! The sci-fi action classic prequel to the Zeiram films has gotten a remaster for the 1st time ever! The subtitles have been redone from scratch with a new translation. https://t.co/8z2HNoghZP”
