Father's Day is when we celebrate the one who was always there for us, who taught us important lessons, and helped us become ourselves.

I'm writing a new chapter this afternoon. It's clear only one of two darlings will fit. The other has to be cut.

So what do I do? I open up my junk drawer file and put the cut darling in there to use later.

I don't kill my darlings. I give them a sweet apartment.

Doctor: So what's your book about?
Me: Dragons and their riders. You know, communing with a great creature. It's like why kids enjoy riding horses.
Doctor: But horses don't breathe fire.
Me: That's probably why I never took to them.

I've never seen a doctor melt with laughter before.
