I have posted infrequently about this but I am now bringing my social media alternative trials to an end. I ultimately didn't really enjoy my experience here, Mastodon or Substack. It never occurred to me that the best alternative for me would be no alternative at all.

One benefit from being up late and feeling horribly sick, it's giving me time to mass cull my Substack subscription. I can't possibly read this many newsletters. Ever. Nothing like the delusion of sickness to bring a moment of clarity. I hope that I will remember I did this in the morning.

Being in my 40s is just weird. I am full of so much regret and disappointment. It feels pretty common across Millennials but is it common to being in your 40s? Or is it a consequence of living through miserable times? I was not prepared for the misery. It's exhausting...

I am currently trying buckwheat as part of my carb control in order to manage my diabetes. It has lower carbs overall and doesn't spike blood sugar. I like it for some uses such as crackers for snacks. I guess I will come to tolerate it as a pasta alternative 😂 Next up using buckwheat flour to make cakes...#diabetesmanagement

Already up nice and early to do the things my kids think magically just happen by themselves (lol). Honestly, it has been a very long and challenging week. I am ready to write February off and re-emerge in March. #adultingwoes

I made a minor screw-up (relatively) because I am so sleep deprived. And it is very annoying and costly, and wouldn't have happened if I had kids capable of sleeping through the night. I don't know when this phase will end and I am even less certain that I will survive until it ends. #parenting

I have been spending some time in The Heated Rivalry Reddits, which I now deeply regret. Mostly because I know better to spend time in fandoms largely driven by women. It always ends in acrimony and people deciding they know better than everyone, including the creator(s) 🙄
