What I’ve learned from this is not to over-trust or idolise any person or product. That said, I still admire Musk’s products and ideas, though they’re far from perfect. X and PayPal, both of which I use heavily, still have plenty of room for improvement and optimisation.
This raised a bigger question: if he’s willing to fake something as trivial as gaming because of his ego, how much of his work and products might also have exaggerations?
I’ve always had a good impression of Elon Musk, but that changed a bit after watching a video yesterday exposing him for possibly faking his gaming skills. Apparently, he might have hired boosters or bought high-level gear from them. He doesn’t seem familiar with basic game mechanics, settings, or workflows, yet he bragged about being a gaming expert, saying he’d been skipping work to play games and analyzing in-game economies with “first principles.” It now seems likely it was all for show.
I’m a bit sceptical about DeepSeek’s low charges, especially since it’s a Chinese company. My take is, if the product’s cheap or free, chances are you’re the payment.
I reckon OpenAI and other firms should add invisible watermarks to their output to stop it being used for training by rival companies. They ought to step up their game against fake users trying to pinch the output for building their own models.
Bloody hell, RED's gone and copied TikTok with their video layout now. Just proves that every app ends up going down the same rubbish route in the end. What a joke mate 🤡
Right, here's how to dodge that mess - either get your IAPs sorted first before pushing any app updates, or just switch to manual releases. That way you can make sure everyone's got the proper version with working IAPs. Saves you a right headache with customers later on.
So what happens is your app might go live or get updated, but your IAPs are still stuck in review or got knocked back. And get this - even when your IAPs finally get the green light, it can take up to a bloody day to actually work! Proper pain in the arse when people try to buy stuff during that time, innit?
Mate, let me tell you about this proper nightmare with Apple's in-app purchases if you're a dev. Here's the thing - IAPs and your actual app get checked separately, even if you send them in together. Bit of a faff really.
You'll need a personal membership just to play, only members can use voice chat in world channels, and it'll be like a grand a month just to start a guild! Then the game'll be full of dodgy bot accounts with fit birds sliding into your DMs trying to scam you. And of course the in-game currency will be Dogecoin. Absolute muppet, if you ask me.
