I wonder how many orgs will be doing this by 2027

Never experienced a town "invaded" by cars.

The one parking left not belonging to a supermarket in this town has quadrupled it's hour fees so you have to take that price plus public transport ticket.

But politicians do other stupid shit like the new planned apartment blocks with a deliberate lack of parking spaces (one square per 10 apartments). So far they haven't managed to fill enough preorders to build the houses and they can't figure out why...

Saw a fem-looking person with a backpack with a trans flag and the text "fuck your binary" sewn on it on the bus today.

Made me unreasonably happy actually.

Okay, I need help from my olds. It was quite common in pre-social media era (let's say pre-2005) to talk about the "size" of the internet. Often you'd see internet size estimates in terms of books, pages, or how many libraries of congress it would represent.  Obviously, this was always a silly exercise, and it got sillier once we entered web 2.0 and content was dynamically generated out of databases. I need pre-2005 references to the size of the internet using analogies to books, etc. Thoughts?

So... baseball is instead of sports, right?

(ducking)

@demi @JessTheUnstill Also work with most shapes of pasta.

Basically, for me:

Tomatoes involved? Pasta
Cream or creamy sauce involved? probably pasta
Soy sauce or chili sauce? Definitely rice
Random veggies? Either.

Rice + some stuff on top is an underrated super easy meal.

Step 1: Make rice
Step 2: Look through the cabinet or fridge for something that goes with rice
Step 3: (if needed) heat up the other stuff
Step 4. Dump stuff on rice and eat

@AnthonyJK

And that happens far less in Europe than people think.

(And where it happens politicians tend to remove those parkings too, "because all cars bad" and then wonder why people not living there drive to OTHER cities to shop. Not being stupid here, I have seen it happen several times: Politicians removing the big parking lots at the outskirt of towns and cities and being confused why nobody wants to go to that town to work or shop).

“Artificial intelligence is the opposite of education”

> But what if there isn’t a middle of this road? What if the project of ‘artificial intelligence’ is not a road to new kinds of education - not even a slow and bumpy one – but the reversal of everything education stands for?

Artificial intelligence is the opposite of education

Or: what if there is no middle ground?
