I don’t know if any time of my life has blurred together more than the last four years

45.000 asielzoekers vorig jaar.

@caseynewton quoted in this WashPost article by @taylorlorenz and team:

"If you wouldn’t join Gab, or Parler, or Truth Social, there’s no reason you should be on X. I think it’s time for journalists and publishers, in particular, to acknowledge the new reality and to get the heck off that website.”

Antisemitism was rising online. Then Elon Musk’s X supercharged it.

Antisemitism has long festered on the internet, but the Israel-Gaza war and the loosening of content moderation on X have propelled it to unprecedented levels.

Can I get some boosting for employment? I am an accomplished developer. I am most familiar with Python, although I have probably programmed in more languages than most developers are exposed to these days. I totally suck at the google-based interviews asking me to solve some abstract problem in less than an hour (okay, I admit it, I am a slow programmer.. I prefer to use the term "careful.”) - Any help is appreciated in this job market. https://www.linkedin.com/in/scanner/

i want an operating system where the software i use most becomes softly rounded with wear.

where force quits leave an inexorable scar across the carapace of a title bar.

i want to see dust collecting in the folders i never open and i want to see creases in the binding of the text files i read most.

i want my computer to become an heirloom that lives on after me covered in rivulets of age that my descendants can trace and know where my fingers once caressed.

Not depressed enough? This may help. I’ve been warning that the Senate map for 2024 was a trainwreck coming on. And that was before Manchin’s announcement. This is a break-glass crisis if we don’t stop wasting time on unicorns and grievance votes. We need to stop pretending anything but a Democratic wave can save this foundering democracy. So save the cranky idealism for 2028 or 32. This ain’t the time for fantasies. https://www.270towin.com/2024-senate-election/

Still the same. Absolutely nothing has changed. Anyone can create an account as you with your info but different phone and email, and as long as they can answer the 5 multiple guess questions, right, they're you! And you're, well, left scratching your head and Experian's support will just say it's okay, just create another account.

When I reclaimed my account just now, it said, welcome back Brian. WTF!

The public doesn’t understand the risks of a Trump victory. That’s the media’s fault

With democracy in the balance, the press must relay the crucial importance of this election and the dangers of a Trump win

I'm just blocking "liberals" who say they can't bring themselves to vote for Biden/Harris because he's "disappointed" them on some issue or other.

The choice is between preserving and expanding democracy and letting fascists destroy democracy altogether.

This is so obvious and well-known that I have to suspect that many of these accounts are actually sleepers set up to bait and switch, aiming to put liberals off of voting.
