Twin adventurers are cleverly testing modern vs. historic gear. “If they went on an expedition, and Ross wore modern kit while Hugo wore historic replicas, any difference in performance…could be attributed solely to the gear, not genetics.” https://www.carryology.com/insights/how-the-turner-twins-are-mythbusting-modern-gear/
How the Turner Twins Are Mythbusting Modern Gear

Modern adventure apparel should outperform heritage gear, right? Well, the genetically identical Turner twins put this theory to the test...

@fesshole no idea if it still exists but a CMS I did data entry for in the late 90s as a bored temp has a fair few of the Bart Simpson callling Moe’s Bar joke names. I don’t imagine Tendent, Carlotta got many comms.
Spring is just around the corner! A white magnolia tree in bloom in the City of London.
@mullvadnet seen on the Elizabeth Line, London today.
@mikehindleuk ok so error correction didn’t change anything. Tried in a different and better stereo and it played. Without getting too tin foil hat - wondering if there’s some copy protection or even because it’s an older version of De La Soul’s 3 feet high and rising with the uncleared samples that kept it off streaming until very recently.
@mikehindleuk thanks Mike now trying again with use error correction.
This unique self-portrait, also known as “view from the left eye”, is the creation of Austrian physicist and philosopher Ernst Mach (famous for his work on supersonic fluid mechanics), who was born #onthisday in 1838. Weird technical issue - audio CD plays ok in cheap stereo but plays / imports with terrible noisy static when trying to rip to my Mac using Apple SuperDrive. It’s a second hand CD but not in particularly poor condition - see comment about plays in stereo. (Edit to add - I would have thought it would either play or not play rather than rip a terrible version)
@antonyjohnston I’ve got one on the shelf - I wonder if the binding glue still smells of sick like all those era TSR hardbacks did.
