@itsfoss can you share recommendations for keeping AI locked up? I'd love to experiment but I dont have spare hardware that could be dedicated to an AI
Privacy projects are more vulnerable to these attacks because the userbase and supporters largely avoid social media and other platforms where it happens. Many people believe what they read on social media if it isn't countered and it builds echo chambers hostile to GrapheneOS.
@GrapheneOS it is mostly clear to me that the rules on r/privacy (e.g. "R8: No discussion of alternative mobile/phone OS/ROMs") are inappropriate when an OS can be a solution for improved privacy. Have mods ever shared why they autoban GrapheneOS talk? Is this because the mods want to keep their subreddit as simple as possible?
Y Combinator has a financial stake in numerous surveillance and exploit development companies. Hacker News is a platform they own and the moderators on it have permitted years of vile harassment towards our team which they'd normally remove if others were targeted.
@GrapheneOS nice that you caught a circular reference problem

@itsfoss

Your post is very misleading.

E.g., Garuda Linux has stated on March 9th they »will continue to comply with local regulations in Finland and Germany (where the servers are hosted and the donation funds are held)«, so their "resistance" is strictly limited to Californian law, not to OS-level age verification, per se.

MidnighBSD has already announced on March 9th »We've implemented about 1/3 of the california/colorado/illinois law.«

Please verify your statements, and retract this post.

Garuda Linux and California Age Verification Law (AB 1043) – Official Position?

Hey. We have no operations in California. Last time I checked, California law does not (yet) apply where I live, therefore, Garuda Linux will continue to comply with local regulations in Finland and Germany (where the servers are hosted and the donation funds are held). Each one of the contributors is also expected to comply with their local laws (so for me that would be Austrian law). If California law enforcement has a problem with that, they are free to block Garuda Linux’s Website in Cali...

@arstechnica I'm assuming this is in the USA cause no way is that legal in the EU. Thanks for the dystopian nightmare fuel.

If you're a GrapheneOS user make sure you go into the system updater and enable security prereleases if you don't want to be a month+ behind on updates.

This installs security updates for which source cannot yet be released due to Google embargo.
