I consider an author to be great if he abandons all the "norms ", John Watson for instance I would call the main character, as we know more about him than we do of Holmes himself, what did Holmes do growing up for instance? We know that Watson was an army surgeon.

My Nephew, police officer, life saver and generally good person received a "Good minute Work" award fr9m South Yorkshire Police. He went to a break in which turned into an RTC, although one man died at the scene, he stayed with a trapped driver to reassure even as the firemen were extricating the driver of the vehicle.
