Happy Presidents Day.

Two weeks ago, the CIA shut down the World Factbook - a public
domain reference on every country, used by 6 million people
monthly since 1997.

We built a replacement:
https://openfactbook.org

261 countries · Instant search · Country comparisons

Public data should stay public.

I am a huge Stephen King fan and not surprisingly, like many others, I love IT.

I recently re-read it and I am always amazed at how King (in this particular novel) absolutely nails:

1- Writing of amazing kid/children characters
2- transitioning from creepy tale to really terrifying story to full-blown eldritch nightmare

Between King's epic novels (being IT and The Stand), I'll always lean towards IT. One of the best horror books ever written.

We've had our #BYD #EV since late June.
Just checked how much our charging costs are.
We've now spent as much as we would have in the old car for two full tanks of fuel.

Now Listening: Kanonenfieber - Die Urkatastrophe

I gave a solid listen to this album after Menschenmühle and I have to say that these guys can truly play black metal seriously, melodic yet fierce & violent.

Now Playing: Horna - Askel lähempänä Saatanaa

I am a massive fan of Finnish Black Metal and of Horna in particular. This album is one of my favorites.. Brutal, dark, savagely melodic in a particular sort of way: perfect for the darkness of winter nights \m/

*US, Russia and Saudi Arabia create axis of obstruction as Cop30 sputters out.* The countries that want civilization to survive need to move on from trying to make deals with them, and unite to compel adherence to limits on the fossil fuel they can buy. This may have to include tariffs on the products of countries that fail to participate in those limits.

Gifts For The One Who Comes After by Helen Marshall

Grabbed this off Ebay a couple months ago, finished reading just now.

A superb collection of weird and disturbing short stories, but more dreamy and intimate than your average weird/creepy story.

Highly recommended
