@mrundkvist #GoodMorning from Anstey! Today some finds volunteering at the University and an exhibition with lovely LVC ladies. And promised to make a chicken stirfry today.

UK, welcome back to Erasmus+ 🇪🇺🇬🇧

The EU and the United Kingdom sealed the deal to bring the UK back into Erasmus+ from 2027.

We are rebuilding opportunities for the next generation to study, work and grow together, giving people the chance to connect across borders once again.

It will also help create and deepen partnerships between our academic institutions.

Together again through learning, exchange and connection 🤝

Here's an illustration of the chronology of my stone axes in the form of the order in which cross-sections are invented. Top c. 930 BC, bottom c. 650 BC. The last Droop axes were made c. 520 BC.

Cheyenne Olander cleaned up my pencil drawings!

@mrundkvist #GoodMorning from Anstey! All hope of efficiency today lost as I overslept. Should edit my bibliography and the article before heading canvassing for the Greens.
The invading Roman army first came ashore where Richborough Roman fort lies in AD 43, building a fortress to defend their bridgehead. It grew into a fortified port and had even an arch of triumph. The Romans left Kent and Britain in AD 410. #RomanFortThursday

Had a scheduled phone conversation with the Employment Agency. The lady said something I couldn't quite understand about my driver's licence. Turned out that she meant this:

"Since you haven't found work as a university professor or a project director in contract archaeology, you might want to apply for jobs where having a driver's licence is the main sought-after qualification."

In effect, she told me to become a delivery driver. 🙄

I think I'll end my talk at the conference by saying "This talk is in part a job application. Does your organisation need a multi-lingual productive research scholar who reliably gets into the top journals, and who's popular with students and museum goers? Then just email me."

@mrundkvist #GoodMorning from Anstey! Today I have to do all I had planned to do yesterday as I needed to rest. Reading and commenting plus communicating before going canvassing for the Greens in Narborough/Whetstone tomorrow on a by-election day.
Otrala or Ohrala hillfort in eastern Finland is an Iron Age hillfort. It used to locate on an island in the past above the Lake Ukonvesi c. 10 km south from Mikkeli. In 1888 Appelgren dug there and Leppäaho visited in 1937, 1938 and 1955, Huurre in 1972 and Poutiainen in 1991. #HillfortsWednesday

Children’s shoes were displayed at Amsterdam’s Dam Square on April 12 in a memorial protest, honoring the Gaza children killed by Israel and drawing attention to the scale of the loss.
