Finished this freebie Lego photo frame set. I do not like doing Lego flowers! Sharp, pointy, uncomfortable, finicky.

Next up is, much to my horror, the Pac-Man set. Which has no 3-D instructions, a Dostoyevsky sized book, and like 2000 almost identical pieces. This may have been a mistake.

Sticker modification for my Lego arcade cabinet complete! Authentic side art, marquee, and monitor image for a NeoGeo cabinet.

It's not perfect, but for a first customization by a relative Lego newbie with a disability, I'm proud of this. Arcade authenticity is important to me.

Finished my last Lego set for now, the retro radio. This thing was eight bags of incredibly intricate complicated interlocking mechanical parts. It doesn't look like much from the outside but it was a really difficult build. I think I need to aim a little lower next time.

Worst night of sleep in months, my elbow is killing me, complete wreck. But I wanted to finish this model, dammit. So here it is.

The black rubber tubing along the sides was surprisingly hard to get in place, but the rest of it was pretty smooth. I like the scale, perfect for the figures.

Finished building the Lego Polaroid camera. After all the hell I went through making the ejection mechanism yesterday, after finally completing everything, it doesn't work. And I am not cracking this thing open to try to fix it. At least it looks nice.
Building a Lego Polaroid camera. This thing is way too complicated for its own good; a rainbow array of interlocking levers, pivots, and rubber bands. When I finally got the whole thing together, pushing the shutter button shot the photo across my desk like a shotgun. Very clever, but a rough build.
I'm building a retro little telephone while listening to 1980s tunes, and I have to say, this mechanism for the dial is really clever. A rubber band so there's increased resistance as you spin the dial. There's so many little internal details that get covered up in the final build of these kits.

I love how Lego sets are divided up by numbered bags, so you can do a little bit at a time. Isn't that great? OK! Let's assemble this next one!

instructions: "start by dumping every single bag on the table"

oh no Jesus take the wheel

Couldn't resist doing the last bag since this is a small build. Behold, burgers made within burgers alongside burgers. Also really cool: the dude with the burger larger than his entire torso has a cochlear implant. No particular reason, just is. I dig it. I dig it a lot.

Get in the truck, losers, we're going to FLAVORTOWN

When I was a teenager, I wrote terrible sci-fi stories featuring a fast food slinging martial artist who fought with two spatulas. Feels appropriate to render that in Lego form.
