Like, what is the reason for widely available deepfake technology to exist?
Why should random people be able to make convincing faked images and videos of the pope, a president, a supermodel, or you and me?
Why on earth is this software a thing that anyone thought was a good idea to make? What legitimate use does it actually have? I honestly can't think of any application of this tech as harmless. It's just reality distortion becoming quickly shareable. It's a nightmare.
More and more I am convinced that there is absolutely no reasonable use for this technology, and the catastrophic danger of it far outweighs any possible benefit.
We're irrevocably poisoning how people perceive reality in exchange for a party trick.

Word is he offered Harris an endorsement if she'd give him a cabinet position. I can kinda understand doing that between potential nominees in your own party, but this just shows the guy has no real allegiance beyond whoever he thinks will get him ahead.

I really need a way to tell my Google feed that I never ever want to see any of these fan/fake trailers made with AI and recut clips from other films for movies that haven't been filmed or sometimes even greenlit yet.
