Who are you following for bikepacking adventures?
I've been able to find a number of thru-hikers over the years as they document their backpacking travels, but I haven't really found any bikepackers.
@0gust1 I like to get up at 0400 and ride into the dawn to escape the heat, find a good napping/chill spot for the heat of the day, and then onward into the dusk.
A hammock and an (e)book could make the afternoon a delight.

My Comparison of Secure ProtonMail vs Tutanota : Tutanota has more free features and better cost but no compatibility with external OpenPGP and has been affected by DDOS attacks
My more detailed comparison of features can be found at the link below (don't forget to open the notes attached to some cells). But what I can summarise very high level here are some of the key indicators that many may use to make a decision. They are both very secure and it is your own use case that may sway you one way or the other. Both companies have ZERO access to the content of your mail so if you forget your password and recovery codes, that's gone (which is as it should be). Both have mobile apps for iOS and Android from free tier.
Tutanota key points:
* Double the free storage, as well as half the cost at the 10GB storage level. They claim compression could give more space.
* It has an encrypted calendar in the free tier.
* It has secure full text including content search.
* Subject lines encrypted by default.
* Both U2F and TOTP authentication. https://squeet.me/objects/962c3e102adb9688d802cb182b31a5fcce358273

What are people using for Identity Management for #selfhosting #homelab.
My searching keeps arriving back to FreeIPA + Keycloak.
What are the best options for remote desktop environment these days?
#xRDP

I'm trying to be security minded: So I will likely set up a Wirgaurd VPN for access, which I think would mitigate most the risks...
I keep having thoughts of setting up a guac server, or something...
#thedorkweb has me thinking about Cyberdecks again. But I think the real power would be the ability to plug into your own matrix
Yeah, I'm thinking/finding that the use of hashtags seems to try and fill this 'role'.
Creating my own instance is on the long list of #todo 😅
I have certainly been spending some time thinking about #identitymanagement #socialcircles #community in the context of social networking/platforms, and relation to federation.
@nyquildotorg the 'world' tab, or public timeline is a bit of a mess. It allows for a sort of global follow for the instance sure. But, in practicality it tends to have a skewed view of relevance to the individual.
I guess I'm thinking there is potential for a better organization/separation of individual -> community/group/topic -> global
Something just seems to be missing for allowing better engagement at the intermediate step between individual -> global.
