I'm in the process of making another Barbie wig. I realized that fabric glue is better because I can wash the wigs without ruining the bond, unlike the regular glue. The cling wrap is to protect the doll's face from the glue.

I couldn't wait. I unrolled the hair before it was dry. The curls didn't form properly. I had to make do.

I'm done gluing all the hair. I want to give it some big wavy curls. This will go thru a boil wash and the whole day to air dry to set the curls, and then a trim for the final hairstyling.

I really like the facial screening aesthetic of some of the collector Barbie dolls starting from the early 2000s, specifically the small iris on the eyes. I had to recreate it with the current Barbie Basics.
The first series of Barbie Basics from 2009 had that detail. In the latest line, starting from 2025, only some had small irises.

While I like the high articulation (but not the indiscreet joints) of the made-to-move Barbie bodies, I prefer the pivotal body with ankle articulation. This allows the doll to wear high heels and flats, and stll have ample articulation without the imposing joints. #FashionDoll
