Fiction Writer. Stories in Still: The Journal, 100 Word Story, Streetlight Magazine, and others. Guest edited The Hong Kong Review (2:1). Working on literary short fiction and historical novels.

My favorite historical time periods in American history are the between-war periods and/or moments of intense economic pressure on regular people: 1890s, 1930s, mid-1970s, etc.

Still over here revising this novel. I have been working on it daily, though I took a break yesterday. Back on it today. My first novel is out on submission, and really the only thing to do to cope with that situation (complete lack of control) is to finish a different novel.

@Carriejl

Thanks for reading!!

I have a story up today at Streetlight Magazine!

(This is the one I've been revising since 2012, btw.)

@joehumphrey

I am literally using highlighters on a hard copy.

@ellenmorrisprewitt

Fun! What year? I love it there so much. Been to several workshops there.

April is going to be another month of daily novel revision. I have been using highlighters (in very nice muted colors, not neon ones) to mark certain things in my draft. This pass, I am focusing on the timeline of the story and everything related to backstory so I can make sure it's all consistent and the flow of the story works well.

What's your process for revision?
