Standing on top of a glacier cave on the Canwell Glacier, Eastern Alaska Range. The opening behind them is about 30 feet wide and 15 feet tall, and the cave extends much further back into the ice. Clear skies made for some very cold winter air.

One of the reasons I love #infraredphotography as much as I do is its ability to turn the normally mundane completely on its head, such as how it rendered this small patch of brush at the north end of #fortdesotopark. In normal light, it's unremarkable but #ir changes that, turning it into something otherworldly. This was a messy hike. Dropped camera into the stream, bit later into the snow. Heavy rain in the valley. Lot's of snow higher up the mountain. Snowshoes left in the car - of course. Got some nice images though.

Winterzauber aus der Vogelperspektive: Der Stausee in Soboth, halb gefroren nach einer kalten Winternacht, eingebettet in verschneite Wälder und sanfte Hügel. Am Horizont ist noch das Licht der Morgensonne zu sehen, während am Himmel bereits die ersten Ausläufer einer Nebelfront in das Bild ragen, die sich wenige Momente später über den See und die seine Umgebung legen werden.
