Gardening in April

Hey, since this is the personal part of my blog, I wanted to talk about what I’ve been working on in the garden this month. Yes, it has been taking time away from my art, but my mental health has improved a lot because of it. It feels like something that is slowly settling me, helping with that constant exhaustion. If you are a creative, I really think it is important to step away sometimes and do things that are not tied to your work.

Art Censorship is Politics

Today I wanted to talk about something I’ve been noticing for the past few years, and that is the growing push for censorship of art across many platforms. One of the biggest things I see removed from sites are political art pieces or media. I’ve watched strong, impactful work disappear, often right as it begins to spread and more people start to see the message.

Reinvent Your Artist Journey

One thing that has been on my mind for a while is reinventing my art journey. In the beginning, I did not really have a plan or a clear path. I just drew whatever I wanted, without thinking much about whether an audience would connect with it from week to week. I still fall into that sometimes, but now I have more direction in what I create.
