For today's #StandingStoneSunday it's a photo of the Giant's Grave at Beorgs of Housetter, Shetland. These two red granite stones stand guard over a cairn.
Shetland is just a magic place for ancient sites in fantastic landscapes.

02/01/2026 - Snowy walk from the house this afternoon on the quiet back roads. No flowers to see because of the snow but we saw some nice birds about. Red kite, long-tailed tit, goldcrest and treecreeper were probably my favourites on the walk. This year I'm seeing how many birds I can hear on walks from my house using the Merlin bird app. I heard 13 different birds today which was pretty happy making as it was a cold and windy day. A tough day for the all wildlife out there.
08/12/2025 - Evening walk after work. Dark once we were away from the houses. The stars were good tonight. Orion is back on our evening walks to the east. Feels like a proper winter night sky now.
06/12/2025 - Lunar fog bow
Evening walk after the rain. It was really foggy out. The photo isn't that great but it's of a lunar fog bow! Something I've never seen before. About 10pm night time with a big moon behind me. Moonlight is interacting with fine water droplets in the fog, creating a faint white arc.
